Lip Augmentation York

What is a Lip Augmentation?

Your lips loose volume with age. Here at the Yorkshire Skin Clinic we can use techniques to inject products and enhance different parts of your lips.

Look at your lips in a mirror:
Are they too thin?
Do the sides of your top lip tail off?
Do your lips naturally turn down at the sides and create a 'sad face'?
Do they pout enough when looked at from the sides?
Is there anything you would like enhancing? The Yorkshire Skin Clinic can give you an enhanced cupid's bow (see below). We can get a dramatic improvement by just enhancing you philtrum.

What if it goes wrong? (What happened with Lesley Ash?)

The infamous pictures of Lesley Ash’s lips were due to the use of Permanent Fillers which are no longer used. Our fillers naturally get broken down by the body over 6 months and can be dissolved with an injection at any time. Hence if you are not happy with the result then we can easily manipulate the fillers in your lips, add to them or even get rid of them all together.

Will I have an anaesthetic?

Yes, your surgeon will give you usually four injections of local anaesthetic to numb the nerves that supply the lips. It may take a few hours before your feeling returns but this means that the procedure is very comfortable and should not be painful.

How long does it take to work?

Immediately.

Because injecting your lips is different to injecting your skin they do swell and bruise more easily. After the procedure your lips will look a lot bigger due to swelling. This is often scary as people think that's how they are going to look. The swelling usually settles down after 24-48 hours. Bruising can occur on the lips which appear as a darker purple area on the lip, this again resolves within a few days.

How long does it take?

On average the whole procedure should take less than 25 minutes.
