The Royal College of Surgeons and the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons have stated that the term 'surgeon' is being used too cheaply by other professionals who advertise themselves as surgeons but are not.
The examples of these are 'podiatry surgeons' and some 'aesthetic surgeons' who may not even be medically qualified.
A survey of 2000 people carried out by the Royal College of Surgeons showed that 98% of people would expect someone calling themselves a surgeon to have a medical background.
At the Yorkshire Skin Clinic our clinicians are all fully trained doctors and have then undertaken specialist training in surgical procedures at post graduate levels.
Our Aesthetic Surgeon - Dr Aaron Brown is not only a qualified doctor but a qualified Member of the Royal College of Surgeons of England hence wears his 'surgeon' title absolutely correctly.
